Classic Car Race — Caminho dos Pretos (Clássica do Caminho dos Pretos)

One of Madeira's most anticipated motorsport traditions returns to the hills above Funchal. The Clássica do Caminho dos Pretos is a historic regularity race that brings together dozens of classic and vintage cars on a closed public road — a rare chance to see beautifully preserved vehicles tackle a real mountain route rather than a static show.

The race takes place along the Caminho dos Pretos, a well-known regional road stretching roughly 6.95 km between Palheiro Ferreiro and Terreiro da Luta, in the parish of Monte, with the route driven in both directions across several timed passes. The event spans two days and closes with an awards dinner that brings competitors and enthusiasts together.
