A free vaccination campaign for dogs and cats, open exclusively to residents of the Calheta municipality, running from 29 August to 5 September 2026.

The campaign includes:

Rabies vaccination

Electronic identification (microchip)

Internal deworming

SIAC/DIAC registration

Health record (Boletim Sanitário)

Parish licensing

Registration is mandatory and limited by parish. Register by phone: 291 820 200. Deadline: the day before your parish's scheduled date.

What to bring:

Citizen Card/ID and NIF Health record for dogs and cats (Boletim Sanitário), if this is a booster Proof of address

Dogs of potentially dangerous breeds and their crossbreeds (Brazilian Filo, Dogue Argentino, Pit Bull Terrier, Rottweiler, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Tosa Inu) and dangerous dogs are subject to special registration conditions.
