ENSEADA – Funchal Arts Festival

For three days, Funchal itself becomes the stage. ENSEADA turns the city's gardens, squares and old-town streets into an open-air arts festival, bringing together concerts, street theatre, puppet shows, folk parades, workshops and art installations across multiple locations in the historic centre.

The programme leans heavily on Madeiran talent, featuring newly commissioned works and projects by local artists and cultural associations. A standout feature is Montras com Arte: dozens of shops along Rua da Sé, Rua das Pretas, Rua Ivens and other central streets become temporary galleries, with contemporary art pieces displayed in their windows.

Main stages: Auditório do Jardim Municipal, Praça Amarela, Largo do Corpo Santo, with additional activities spread across the old town.
