Deliver Us from Hunger (Livrai-nos da Fome!) — Theatre at Teatro Baltazar Dias

"Livrai-nos da Fome!" draws a parallel between the pre-25 April period and the present day, marking the 50th anniversary of Madeira's autonomy. Using satirical, comic and absurd sketches as its theatrical device, the show confronts an era hungry for freedom against a present in which the growing glorification of extremism swallows that same freedom.

With original live music, the twenty-one sketches — inspired by Madeiran delicacies — address Hunger both literally and metaphorically, linking it to greed and ambition. "Livrai-nos da Fome!" is the final part of the Trilogia da Morte (Trilogy of Death), inspired by the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, which began in 2022 with "Livrai-nos da Peste!" and continued in 2024 with "Livrai-nos da Guerra!".
