Madeira Mandolin Orchestra Concert

The Madeira Mandolin Orchestra takes the stage for a live concert, blending classical repertoire with the distinctive sound of the mandolin family. Known as one of Europe's oldest mandolin orchestras, the ensemble brings together generations of musicians on mandolins, mandolas and guitars for an evening of acoustic string music.

Concerts take place at two of Funchal's most atmospheric venues. The Assembleia Legislativa da Madeira (Madeira's Legislative Assembly), at Av. do Mar e das Comunidades Madeirenses, São Martinho, hosts chamber concerts in its Salão Nobre, a stately hall inside the historic parliament building. The English Church — formally Holy Trinity Church, on R. do Quebra Costas, São Martinho — is a 19th-century Anglican church known island-wide for its rich acoustics and regular music evenings.

The orchestra was recognised as a 2025 award winner, reflecting its standing among Madeira's cultural institutions.
