The novenas ahead of the Feast of São Roque are part of the religious and community life of the parish, gathering worshippers and locals around an annual tradition that precedes the main celebrations dedicated to São Roque. Each night is hosted in a different sítio (neighbourhood) of the parish, always at 20:00:

12 August, Wednesday – Novena da Mocidade

13 August, Thursday – Novena da Paz

14 August, Friday – Novena dos Aliados, with guest preacher Rev. Cónego Manuel Ramos, parish priest of Machico
