School Festival, Porto Santo - 2026

Every October, once the beach season winds down, Porto Santo turns into a meeting point between contemporary art and island life.

Programme highlights:

Opening concert — Friday, October 9, at the CCCPS auditorium (Porto Santo Cultural and Congress Centre), followed by a set from the Pitanga Discos collective

Exhibitions — Anteprojeto — Escola do Porto Santo (curated by Catarina Raposo and Paulo David with architecture students from Instituto Superior Técnico) and Árvore Relâmpago by Nicolás Paris

Workshops — traditional crafts and skills led by local artisans and producers

Talks and encounters — the launch of the EIRA publication and guided exhibition tours

Craft and food fair — with participation from local associations and cultural groups

Island walks — guided routes exploring Porto Santo's landscape with researchers and architects
