Apple Cider Festival – Santo da Serra

Santo da Serra hosts its annual cider festival, celebrating one of Madeira's oldest rural traditions — the making of cider from locally grown apples.
Visitors can watch the traditional pressing process live, where apples are crushed and pressed using age-old wooden equipment, and sample the fresh must as it's produced.
The programme typically includes cider tastings from different parishes across the island, folklore performances, live music, and stalls selling apples, cider, jams and other apple-based products. A festive procession is usually part of the closing celebrations.
