Festival Internacional de Bandolins da Madeira
The Madeira International Mandolin Festival brings together musicians from Portugal, Italy, Brazil, Japan and Greece for a series of concerts exploring the mandolin across different traditions, from folk and classical to jazz and Brazilian choro. The festival closes with a regional meeting of Madeira's own tunas and mandolin orchestras, celebrating the instrument's long history on the island.

October 23
20:00 — Duo Bandonica (Portugal and Italy), Funchal Baroque Ensemble. Mandolinist Francisca Abreu and accordionist Alessio Ferrari take the audience on a musical journey from Italy through Austria, Spain, Argentina and Japan to Madeira.
October 24
20:00 — Marcela Mar and El Trio (Brazil). Guitarist and composer Marcela Mar joins El Trio for a concert blending jazz with Latin American and Brazilian instrumental music.
October 25
20:00 — Trio Mayer / Trio Meyer Ferreira (Brazil). Sisters Corina, Elisa and Lia Meyer Ferreira, formerly known as Choro das 3, perform two decades of Brazilian choro on flute and seven-string guitar.
November 14
20:00 — Suzuna Takahashi and Sotiris Athanasiou (Japan and Greece), Henrique and Francisco Franco Museum.
