Madeira Theme Park 22nd Anniversary

Madeira Theme Park turns 22, and three weeks of special activities in Santana celebrate Madeiran culture, traditions and heritage. Expect craft workshops, book launches, new exhibitions, live music and folk dance, plus free entry to the garden areas on selected days.

Tuesday, 6 October

• Morning: Bolos de Milho (traditional Madeiran cornbread)
• 11am: Official launch of the book "The Dragon in the Enchanted Forest" (O Dragão na Floresta Encantada)

Wednesday, 7 October

• Morning: Wicker Weaving workshop (Workshop dos Vimes)
• Morning and afternoon: Madeira Embroidery workshops (Bordado Madeira)

Thursday, 8 October

• Morning: Official launch of the book "The Dragon in the Enchanted Forest"

Friday, 9 October

• Afternoon: Wool demonstration
• 6pm: Performance by the Castelo Branco Folk Dance Group from Faial Island

Saturday, 10 October

• Morning: Family Cake workshop (Workshop Bolo Família)
• 11:30am: Children's entertainment with Vanusca
• 2pm: Opening of the exhibition "Wheat Threshing in Santana – Reliving the 1930s to 1950s", featuring a threshing machine
• 2pm: Opening of the exhibition "Traditional Rag Dolls" (Bonecas de Pano)
• 2pm: Performance by the Santana Municipal Band
