Water Sports Day: Nelo 510 Cup, Canoe School Championship & Traditional Canoe Regatta

Funchal Bay fills with colour and competition as three canoeing events share the water on the same morning.

The Nelo 510 Cup and the NP Canoe School Championship bring competitive paddlers of different levels to the bay, while the 23rd Traditional Canoe Regatta follows a route from São Lázaro to Praia de São Tiago, keeping alive a maritime tradition tied to the city's fishing heritage.
